Tips to Designing a Begonia Garden

When you want to transform your home or garden area, one of the best ideas is to plant a Begonia garden. These types of plants are easy to take care of and are very easy to maintain. They will love the Mediterranean climate in your region and they will do well with a range of other plants as well. It is a good idea to plant a flower garden that blends well with the surrounding environment. This type of garden has many different options for landscaping with flowers including pots, arbors, trellises, wall flower arrangements and more. Let us look at the Begonia flower garden options for your landscaping project.

In Southern California there are many landscaping options with flowers including the begonia. These plants grow well alongside Mediterranean shrubs and trees. A nice flower garden consisting of these plants and other flowers will really add character to your yard. These flowers include the blue begonias, the purple calendula, the white phlox, the yellow-orange begonias and the pink calla lilies. The Spanish name for these flowers is Romero.

If you want to landscape with Begonia flowers then the best plant for the job is the blue begonias. These are a low maintenance plant and can easily be cared for by pulling off the dead flowers on a regular basis. This is a quick way to keep the plant healthy and looking great throughout the year.

If you are looking to landscaping with Begonia flowers then the perfect plant family to begin with would be the hydrangeas. These plants have many seasons of blooming and are a low maintenance plant. The begonias are another great choice that can be planted anywhere in your garden. Both of these plant families are beautiful when planted together in a colorful display.

The most important thing to remember when designing a flower garden is that it should be planted for the blooms only. Don’t try to fool around with trying to cover up dirt or rocks with these plants. These are just not going to work and be as beautiful as they could if placed in the garden. It takes a bit of imagination to make a beautiful flower garden, but the more you do it the better you will get at it.

The most important thing to remember when landscaping with Begonia flowers is that you will need to water your garden at least twice a week. When you first move the plants from the ground into your garden, they may be a little shy. You can try putting an old shirt or piece of clothing on them to help them get used to the feel of the soil. Planting them in loosely will also help them adjust to their new environment and will prevent you from having to do a lot of pulling of pots after they have been put in the ground.

You should place flower pots on each corner of your flower garden. This will provide ample air flow for the plants. You should also place plants that like to grow in the same area near each other so they can share the sunlight and water they need. This will also give your flower garden a better overall appearance.

When landscaping with Begonia flowers, you should consider using potting soil. Make sure you purchase a brand you can trust, as some types of potting soil are not as great as others. For beginners, I suggest using potting soil that is free of nitrogen, phosphorous and Potassium. This will help your plants stay healthier and give you a better landscape appearance. If you take the time to look at flower garden plant family selections, then you will have a much easier time designing a flower garden.
